Credit/Market Risk Responsible Reviewer – Internal Audit

Responsibilities:

 

  • monitoring the status, following up on and providing independent assurance on effective and sustainable remediation of identified risks – after issues are closed by management, Issue Assurance assesses whether issues with moderate to critical impact have been remediated effectively and sustainably
  • reviewing (conducting 1st level reviews) remediation steps submitted by management for issue closure to assess whether these have addressed the relevant original risks
  • identifying and assessing operational and emerging risks relevant to the Credit Risk and Market Risk Functions, identifying mitigating controls and control gaps, assessing the controls’ design and operating effectiveness as well as the impact of control deficiencies
  • documenting and communicate issues, root causes and risks, and providing practical, innovative, and value-added solutions to issues identified
  • engaging with internal and external stakeholders on issues related to individual items as well as remediation themes identified in different areas
  • building and maintaining strong relationship with key stakeholders
  • proactively contributing towards developing detailed procedures, guidance and FAQs for the issue assurance process
  • identifying, assessing and prioritizing process improvements / system enhancements

 

Requirements:

 

  • university degree, preferably within the finance and or banking field
  • several years of relevant experience in credit or market risk audit, internal risk management or control areas within the financial industry or professional services firms good understanding of financial markets, operational aspects, as well as process flows within and between banks / counterparts
  • some knowledge of and experience to demonstrate understanding of the risks and controls related to Market Risk or Credit Risk Functions
  • strong analytical skills and quantitative approach to problem solving – you are able to quickly understand complex processes and challenge the status quo, identify risks and inadequacies in procedures, as well as propose practical and sustainable solutions
  • an excellent verbal and written command of English with the ability to effectively communicate with senior stakeholders
  • flexibility and willingness to handle various topics and to keep up with financial industry developments
  • curiosity and willingness to discover all aspects of the bank, with the ambition to advance your career in an international environment
  • reliability when working independently, with sound judgment for when to escalate issues
